Fish Tale Charters Ocean Flounder Fishing Report Ocean City NJ. Since last report we have been only able to get off the dock on one trip into the Ocean. Other days the wind has been blowing and the Ocean and inlet have been nasty. We are currently feeling the hurricane to our south off of the Carolina’s. Hurricane Humberto is sending wave action to us and sea conditions are to be up to 8ft thru to the weekend. On the trip we got off the dock we did not get any Flounder yet we did catch some Bluefish in the 2 lb range. We lucked into these Blues first thing in the morning and the rest of the day was very slow. The rough ocean has things pretty churned up. I think this has shut the Flounder bite down. Flounder as you all may know do not like turbulent water. When we get big wave action out on the Ocean this time of year the Flounder scatter and head to very deep water much farther off in the Ocean.

Fish Tale Charters Ocean Flounder Fishing Report Ocean City NJ. This is the last week of the 2019 Flounder season. The last day we can catch and keep Flounder is this Saturday September 21st. Unfortunately the Bay is just dribs and drabs as to what Flounder are remaining in these waters. Not enough action to fish the Bay. Also with the Ocean foretasted to be very rough thru next Saturday 9/21 we won’t be able to fish out there either. I think the Ocean is dead now anyway for Flounder with the past storms having an effect on the Flounder. So you may ask what do we fish for now? The answer is we change gears. I am this week changing over all my fishing gear that is on the boat to the Back Bay Striped Bass gear. We will start in October with these 4 hour trips that I take 1 to 2 people. On my website go to trips and rates for more information. This trip can only be done on days when high tide is at a time of day we can do the trip. (for safety I don’t do this trip during dark hours) Not every day on the calendar will work. It tends to be that it is every other week there is a high tide over 4 or 5 days that we can book. It is best to contact me at the below phone number to find out which days will work. Stay Tuned!
